MSCPMP Circle Special Interest Talk #4 had an extraordinary luncheon session with Ms. Tan from CETDEM.

Upon arrival, we were amazed to find a greenery organic farm in the heart of PetalingJaya. A garden filled with flourishing, edible leaves and vegetable. Stepping into the house, a neatly lined up dining setting for our feasting. From seat to spoon, all done with its full detail. Ms Tan introduced the Slow Food concepts. It took much time for the volunteers, Fern and Mrs Yeoh to complete the preparation.
We were served with an freshly juicy Ulam where the leaves and spices were from the garden. Then, the highlights of our lunch, organic rice served with fresh leaves, home make pickles, accompanied with a bowl of herbal soup, a glass of lemongrass drink AND best chilly padi. We continued with an hour session talk on:
- The history of CETDEM and it’s effort in organic farming.
- Conventional growth vegetables vs organic/home grown vegetables.
- Types of vegetables suitable to be grown with minimal space.
- Composting technique sharing
We thank you for CETDEM’s effort in making this Special Interest Talk a success. Creating the awareness of importance of organic farming so that we will be more environmental conscious.
